MXJXN (the untold story)
We all marvel at our favourite NFT creators and wonder what the backend process must be to create these coveted artworks that fetch top dollar on esteemed marketplaces. Among the secrecy of crypto artists, a deep dive into the creative process of an artist of such calibre is a welcome sight.
MXJXN aka ‘FASTACTION’ began his journey with calligraphy not longer than 2 years ago. As part of mastering uniformity in the strokes, he began making circular artwork and went on to surpass well over a 100 or so of these paper sketches. These perfected diagrams which he has grown so fond of soon became a major part of his personality as an artist and govern his unique style to this day. While the inspiration is the interpretive calligraphy form itself, the beauty lies in the uniformity, spacing and overall pristine presentation of the piece. The design starts with the centre and gracefully works its way around in strokes that are thoughtfully meditated over, before being made. Much of the form is based around ‘Textura Quadrata’ and is inspired by other more artistic blackletter typefaces. Going forward, he intends to move onto Arabic calligraphy as well.
Having been involved with crypto and having worked as a developer for many years, upon noticing the scope and bright future prospects of NFTs, it was only a matter of time before this insanely talented artist found his way onto the NFT stage and the emergence of makersplace.io sparked the beginning of #100DaysOfBlender, a sequence where each day brings about a new daily render. News of this artist who shares his progress spread like wildfire and the unique style led to the formation of the ‘Lens Collection’ with Galactic Lens being the first of many to come.
The success story spilt onto even the lesser-known networks where MXJXN now thrives. His art on paras and near is really one to watch out for and clears out in no time. He is currently working with various artists, and creating 3D renders, alongside building his own marketplace for NFTs as his developer skills are still strong. A hardworking, humble and unquestionably talented artist. MXJXN is surely one to watch out for and I wish my good friend boatloads of success in the near and distant future.
